Frequently described as one of the world’s most beautiful vineyards, Klein Constantia is best known for having recreated the southern hemisphere’s most legendary wine, Vin de Constance.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, this luscious wine was savoured by European royalty, politicians and gourmands, including Frederick the Great, Louis XVI, Queen Victoria, George Washington, Otto von Bismarck, Brillat-Savarin and Dumas. Napoleon even requested it on his deathbed, while Baudelaire craved it almost as much as his lover’s lips!
Located in the Constantia Valley on the Cape of Good Hope peninsula, the estate produces award-winning wines with terroir-specific characters and strong influences from both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
