Founded by Marchese Lodovico Antinori in 1981, the Ornellaia estate is in northern Maremma on the Tuscan Coast, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, within one of the world's most exciting wine regions: Bolgheri.

A breathtaking avenue lined by towering cypress trees leads inland from the old Roman coastal road, up to the walls of Bolgheri's medieval hamlet, with its views stretching far out to sea. The landscape of low hills is dotted with ancient olive groves and vineyards, surrounded by hectares of dense woodlands and typical Mediterranean maritime vegetation.

In the midst of this untouched beauty lie the vineyards of the Ornellaia estate, now owned by Marchesi de' Frescobaldi. The Bolgheri terroir and its diverse soils provide the perfect setting for the famous Ornellaia wines.
