Taylor's Port

Established more than three centuries ago, in 1692, Taylor’s is among the oldest Port houses. It is dedicated entirely to the production of Port.

Taylor’s is an independent family company in which the family plays a leading role. The skills and knowledge have been passed down from one generation to the next.

A respected producer of wood-aged Ports, they possess one of the largest reserves of rare cask-aged wines. Taylor's was also the originator of the Late Bottled Vintage style of Port.

'Port has a fascinating range of styles, flavours and aromas, whether it is the fruity intensity of an LBV, the smooth mellow character of an aged tawny or the depth and power of a vintage Port. This matches the wonderful diversity of different Chinese cuisines and there are so many pairings to discover, such as a full-bodied, fruity LBV with spicy Szechuan dishes or a richly flavoured tawny Port with Cantonese barbecue spare ribs. But for me, the great advantage of Port is that it is delicious and relaxing on its own, enjoyed – as I have been lucky enough to do many times in China – in the company of friends or paired with a fine cigar.'
